Code of Ethics

 

Black Hearts Gaming is defined by its Code of Conduct. This is who we are. We hold our leaders and our members to the highest standards! If you cannot commit to these standards, you should not apply to Black Hearts Gaming.

Section 1: No Cheating

  • No -BH- Member will use, store, or test cheats*. No Member will associate with cheaters while representing -BH-.
  • No -BH- Member will glitch**. All -BH- members will actively avoid glitches that they know, find or are informed about.
  • No -BH- Member will purchase unofficial resources for in game use.


*Cheat: Any alteration of the official game and associated files. Any use of a program that is meant to alter the behavior of the game in a way that either gives an advantage to player using it or gives a disadvantage to players not using it.
Example: Wall-hacks, Speed cheats, Aimbot
**Glitch: Use of any game behavior that is either undocumented or unintended by the developer in order to gain an advantage over other players.
Example: Glitches in walls

Section 2: Alliances

  • -BH- does not form alliances which will compromise its independent identity.


Section 3: Chain of Command

  • -BH- uses a Chain of Command(COC) in the organization of teams and flow of information to achieve success.
  • All orders from your COC must be followed at all times except when those orders contradict the Code of Ethics or other policy.


Members must raise any issues or complaints through their COC. Members cannot jump over the COC. In the event that the issue or complaint is regarding a member's direct COC, the member should submit the issue in written form and request it be forwarded up the COC. The member's COC must forward the written issue or complaint to the next level of the COC.

Section 4: Participation

  • All -BH- Members/Admins/Leaders/HQ members while playing games we support must be in our Teamspeak 3 server. No exceptions, especially admins! If there is a problem on any of our servers you must be available to help and communicate.
  • All -BH- Members should stay active on the Website/Team Speak, if for any reason you are absent for more than 60 days you will lose access to the members area of the site. This does not mean you have been removed as a member. If this happens see an admin to re-instate your permissions. If you know that you will be absent for more than 30 days please post in the Leave Of Absence forum.
  • All activities will be held in the primary -BH- Teamspeak 3 within the assigned channels and game server. All members will attend the mandatory events for their game, if possible.

Attendance at any event or meeting other than those outlined above is optional, but encouraged. Remember that you are a guest and a representative of your game.

Section 5: Dedication and Real Life

  • -BH- accepts all real life needs and commitments. -BH- will not put any member into a decision between real life success and -BH-.


If a member decides to leave -BH- for any reason, the decision will be respected.

Section 6: Promotions, Awards, and Positions

Promotions and awards will be handed out based on the following principles:

a) Dedication
b) Attendance
c) Conduct
d) Teamwork
e) Performance


Leadership Positions will be assigned based on the following principles:

a) Leadership abilities
b) Dedication
c) Teamwork


Section 7: Conduct

  • -BH- members will respect each other regardless of their age, gender, nationality, race, religious beliefs/creed, or sexual orientation.
  • -BH- members will respect non -BH- in the same way as -BH- members.
  • -BH- members will show dignity, honor and integrity outside of -BH-. Any insult towards the members, its game, another -BH- member or -BH- as a whole are to be ignored and left uncommented.

Members will respect and uphold their COC leadership as well as the COC leadership will respect and uphold their members.

Any and all language or content of an adult or offensive nature will not be tolerated, whether on voice or text communications (chat, forums, email etc.).

  • No -BH- member will issue religious or political statements or respond to one of them.
  • No -BH- member will question -BH- policies and regulations in public. They will instead use the COC to issue their thoughts.

Good sportsmanship is mandatory at all times and in all situations.

Members are representatives of -BH- and are perceived as such by other persons and organizations. A member's public conduct, good or bad, will be reflected on the organization as a whole.

Section 8: Loyalty

As a -BH- member, you are not allowed to be a member of another gaming organization that plays a game we officially support. We expect that you will play that game with -BH- and support our team!

As a -BH- member, do not share our strategies or tactics. Our leadership works hard to develop them for their teams.

All members are required to wear their -BH- tags with pride outside the games -BH- officially plays. Remember that you represent -BH- at all times. We understand loyalty is earned, and -BH- will work hard to earn yours, but we will not hesitate to remove members that violate these rules.

 

Section 9: Forum Etiquette Rules/Guidelines

 

1. Read and understand these forum rules/guidelines before posting.

2. Use the search button to see if your topic has already been posted.

3. Create a meaningful title for your thread.

4. Be respectful to your fellow users.

5. Stay on topic.

6. When posting an opinion it is recommended to write why you have that opinion.

7. Ignore spammers and trolls. Instead of feeding them, report them.

8. Do not submit a post that requires users to download files. Provide a link to the information with a thorough explanation of what it is.

9. Be clear clear and accurate, use correct spelling, grammar if you want to be understood by other members. (Avoid "slang" words unless you know everyone will understand what you mean.)

10. Do not double post (post the same message twice in one thread) or cross post (place the same message across several forums).

11. Act in a give and take manner; help others as often as or more than you ask for help.

12. Do not use all CAPITAL letters in your posts. It is the equivalent of SHOUTING in text form. In addition, one exclamation point is enough.

13. When replying to a post, do not quote more from the previous post than you have to.

14. Do not post irrelevant information on someone else's thread and interrupt the topic of discussion.

15. Watch your sense of humor, posts may be read by users from a variety of backgrounds and ages.

16. Do NOT under any circumstances post any personal information about yourself or another user

17. Do not post ”empty” or useless responses, such as just ”lol” or ”see you at launch” Only post responses if you have something to contribute in a constructive manner.

18. Read your post and title carefully before you post it. Make it as error-free as possible.

19. Do not chastise, flame, or troll other users.

 

**Violating any of these rules may result in removal from the gaming community, loss of forum use or being banned from all of our resources**
